hello all,
I'm using PT le with the digi 002r and i need to import a whole song track from a CD into my pro tools so my vocalist can sing with the song while i record her.
Now can someone please tell me if this is possible and if so how? Will i need to convert the file? If so how?
please help a man in need.

Easy. Put the cd in your drive-open a new session-select "movie"
Easy.
Put the cd in your drive-open a new session-select "movie"-select import other movie-select the track # from the list-it should automatically put it in you audio folder of this session- select "choose.
When it's done importing the track open up your audio pool on the right-hand side and drag onto a new stereo track. Done.

ive just tried that and it says "quicktime cannot support this file" i put the cd in and i look at the files and their windows media files. What type of file do they need to be to work in protools?

you know, i dont know if that's the answer you are lookin for, but i use this one program called "CDex", to convert any song on CD to wav file (and God knows almost anything can be done wit wav files)... i dont know if CDex works on mac, as i use PC myself, but give it a try, maybe it could be the answer to ur question...
