My band recently recorded a Pro Tools session at a local studio, and now we need to return with some sort of storage medium before they dump all the work we did. My first reaction was to pick up an external firewire hard drive, but my band wants to save the money and just use one of their iPods (which can act as an external hard drive). My guess is that this won't work, but I'm not sure. Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks.

Yes, you can use the ipod as a storage device... but be carefull
Yes, you can use the ipod as a storage device... but be carefull, it is nothing more than a laptop hard drive in disguise and HARD drives DIE..
So Temp storage is fine, then get your stuff onto a DVD or CD for more secure backup
