I recently checked out the tune The Road Between on Lisa Marie Presley first record. I'm wandering how they created that dirty lo-fi sound. The drummer on the track is Matt Chamberlain and it was mixed by Tom Lord-Alge. Any thoughts?

By using the correct-sounding drum samples and sound replacer.
How drums are done in modern music is now pretty typical. It's either a real kit with a layer of sampled hits tucked within the recorded drums, a real kit with the majority of the drums completely replaced, and even completely programmed drums.
On Billy Bob Thorton's new album all of the drums were created from the program Stylus.
I just had a heated arguement this weekend with a client because he wants a Pantera sounding kit to come out of a Gretsch Catalina Birch without the use of triggers or samples. He stands his ground saying that Pantera, Slipknot, Lamb of God, etc....don't use triggers, and that only Korn and Fear Factory use them. HAHAHA!
Not to stray off topic, I haven't heard the Lisa Marie album, but from what you describe and the style of music.....samples.
