I just pre-ordered a brand new Mesa Engineering 4x12 cab with 4 V30's and my question is do you think that the AVT50's 50w of solid state power is enough to break in the speakers at full volume. If so, how long do you estimate it would take?
If it were a tube amp, I would say yes. I personally would have went with a 2x12 if I were you. I just picked up a 2x12 with V30's to match up with my newly tubed Blue Voodo 60w head. Technically speaking, I'm not sure though.
Yes, the 50W of power should be enough. Solid state amps break up a little better than tube amps which should be a plus for you. Also, try using a single coil guitar like a fender. that will help add a bit of extra punch and distortion.

Oh and try using acoustic guitar strings. They will give you a much more defined tone.
