Anyone out there using the MOTU Traveler yet?
I'm going to be recording multitrack in places without power and it looks like the ideal piece of hardware.
Any problems using it with Logic/PT/Nuendo?

Just one tidbit of info.
If you are planning to use a PC laptop, don´t expect the traveller to get its power from it. To my knowledge there is not a single PC laptop on the earth, with a 6 pin Firewire output that actually supplies power. You can get PCMCIA cards for the laptop, but they do not supply power either (unless of course you use an external power wart).
I think it can be different with Apple-s but then that is not my area of knowledge.

Yeah, I'm not so much concerned with bus power (which would make for really short recording sessions anyway), but to my knowledge, this is the only multitrack, preamped interface that can run on 4 pin battery power. Been googling for weeks, still haven't found a field test or review.

jackchance,
I would also like to see one. I have, and really like, a Motu 828mkII. The traveller looks to me to be very closely related to that. And if that is the case I think you can expect solid build quality and decent sound. (Decent as opposed to stellar which would cost about as much as a new hatch-back car). The possibility to be able to be battery powered is a big plus. And four preamps to me seems to be exactly what I always seems to want to have around.
The reason you find very few reviews might be that there probably are no units out there yet. Many companies start marketing their stuff well before it is first available for delivery. Might be the situation here as well. For one thing, no drivers are available for download from the MOTU website (at least was not yesterday).

Motu Traveler
Greetings,
The Motu Traveler is infact bus powered or dc. I will be getting one in the mail next week. I'll be running dp and eventually Logic 7. I will
follow up next week and report on performance and battery time using it with a G4 Powerbook. It looks killer on paper!
Take care,
-T
I'll bump this up 'cause I'm curious myself.
