Hey
Whats up everybody!
Ok
Who has ever used a Neotek Elite? I'm in on 1 tomorrow and i'm just wondering if there are any tips and tricks? I'm familiar with consoles like the SSL-G, TLA and other analog consoles but first time in on a neotek.. i've had the basics and signal flow but as with every console there's always cool things or ways of doing things..
Think its a 56ch 16bus, 4 stereo channels, 3 talkback buttons! thats the best bit for me.. i hate having to sit 1 end of an SSL and break my back just trying to say something haha
Anyway any tips or tricks on this?
Thanks

The Elite is nice a desk. It works well and behaves as expected.
The Elite is nice a desk. It works well and behaves as expected. The only thing I would say is to keep track of what is balanced and unbalanced when it comes to routing and interfacing the sends, returns, inserts and direct outs. Make sure you let it warm up real good 2-3 hours if not longer.

Hey
Yea, when i was in having a play round it's sure got a differant way of routing etc.. After playing round on SSL's and such it's a bit of a differant way round! I think the main thing is the terminology on it
Do you happen to know much history on Neotek? Like when the original Neotek Elite was released? Cause the rumour of the console i was using is that it actually was used to record Stairway to Heaven and also multiple Abba albums.. would be cool to confirm original release dates and stuff though..i have my doubts haha
Thanks :)

I really liked the Elite when I used one. The routing is not as flexible as many other consoles. It was really intended more for dedicated send/returns in a fixed installation. If you find that you use certain pieces of outboard gear on every project, it's very simple to use.
Sounds good too.

This is off topic, but Arthur, remember the argument about whether the AT mics were of a truly professional standard? Look at the mics in his studio and see how many Audio Technica mics he's got to go with his expensive vintage mics.

It's a bit late ... I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. Audio Gaff is the man around here when it comes to Neoteks. I'm sending this over to his place "Pro Audio". Hopefully it's not too late for you to get some tips from him that you can use.
