Can you post a wav file for us to have a listen ? I'm curious about the Sebatron as a DI for bass and guitars as well as for vocal recording

Sorry no I cant----I dont have the tools to turn it into wav form.
The Seb works great as a DI for bass also.
When I recorded the acoustic guitar,I was so impresssed with the tone,that I decided to also use it as a DI on the electric bass for the same recording-----works great!
If you can swing it-----get the Sebatron,its well worth the $$$$

I use the Shure KSM44 on vocals,from what Ive read,the Audio Technica AT4050 has the same specs as the KSM44.
With a Sebatron and the KSM44 as a vocal mic,the sound is pure,so pure, that it requires a vocal booth. :wink:

i'm using ev re-20 and at-4047 with my sebatronpreamp. always a great sound it doesn't matter what mic you use with that pre. even an sm-57 will sounds like a completely different-better microphone.

I don't understand what you mean - if you have the tools to record, do you not also have the tools to turn into WAV? I guess the only possible answer to that would be if you have only entirely analog gear??

J.THats correct,"I dont have the tools" to turn it into wav file,I have 45 channels via 5 880s slaved.
What I dont have is a disignated computer that excepts SCSI from my 880s.
That my change soon,I ran into a friend who knows "how to" build one that can,,,,,seeing as how he,s a computer tech/drummer,who just happens to work at Best Buy.
If and when he does biuld it for me,I plan on using it for mastering 8)

You hit the nail right on the head-----------Its nice full tube tones make "almost" any mic sound better.

Im really looking forward into using the computer for mastering,but at present time,I have to pay off my $2800 Manely Vari Mu compressor.

Kick, snare, bass, guitars and vocals are all recorded with the Sebatron (In this case a 4000e)

Those kids sound great...and so does the Seb!

what microphones did you use for the vocals?andthe drums(kick/snare)?
was the bass D.I through the seb as well?

Vox was an MXL V69M
Kick was a D112
Snare was an SM57
Bass was through his Hartke head then into the Seb.

Hey Dude, there's a guy in Texas called Bill Casey who has a really cool SCSI PCI card that runs with the VS2480. He's now working on the VS800 SCSI side too. Check out: http://www.virtualscsi.com/virdis.htm

I've been using the VS2480 version since DOS, he now has a Windows version. Perhaps you could email him and start the ball rolling. He's a great guy!
