Hello,

I am looking to make a small studio.
The studio would be used for hip hop / r&b
All i want to do is record vocals.
Beats and sound will be done else where.
I just want to add the beat in to the vocals and mix it.

what would i need to get this done.
I want to use pro tools
I am very new to all this.
So please explain why i need it to.

Thank you

Just out of curiosity, why don't you record the vocals at this 'elsewhere' studio too?

If you only want to record one or two vocal(ist)s at a time and you want to use ProTools, you're best bet is an [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.digidesi…"]MBox[/]="http://www.digidesi…"]MBox[/]. I can't explain why you need it, because you don't need it - any DAW or standalone digital recorder (or even analog, especially where Hip Hop vocals are concerned) will do. It might make things easier in your particular situation if the 'elsewhere' studio already uses PT, but even then it's not essential.
