Someone can tell me about the Telefunken pres? whats the big deal with then? I'm referring to V72 end V376 model...i know they are vintage,,,but can u tell whats special with it sound? :roll:

Of course this is a buyer beware type of product (just as with all vintage gear). The "sound " of a V72 when it was new, will not be what you get now unless you do some considerable restoration and this needs to be done by a very skilled tech, A couple of bas solder joints will kill the whole thing.

If you are technically well versed then you might have fun restoring and racking a couple of these otherwise it is some pretty serious work.

extremely low noise for tube pre's, accurate, and a pain in the ... if they need to be racked and the V72 needs a gain mod unless you want to run it wide open. Ollie at Tab/Funkenwerk knows everything there is to know about these. He also sells a stereo racked version with various tube compliments if you don't want to hassle with vintage ebay...
