I am working on some vocal harmonies for a composition, and my friend brought to my attention Blink 182's Feeling This. In the song there is a 4 (or 5 not sure) part vocal harmony on the last chorus of the song. I am wondering how they achieved the sound from pretty much 2:29 on. It sounds like two of the vocal parts are very punchy or something (quantisizing?) I am not sure. The four vocal parts are also very intertwined I don't have much trouble achieving the sound of the first time harmonies, but any advice in general on how to achieve the sound when the last two harmonies come in would be much, appreciated.

Fun song. In all honesty, there is nothing special going on the
Fun song.
In all honesty, there is nothing special going on there. Its pretty smashed to death. Sounds like pro tools at its worst () but its fun and what counts for this style.
Simply put, crank your compression/ limiter to taste to get the trash sound. The harmonies are so distorted is could be done very easily using an antares harmony plug-in no problem. Octave lower than the lead, ... play around with that and you'll be doing cartwheels.
hope that helps.
