Hey All,

I wrote and recorded the attached track over the last week. Before going live with it, I'm wondering what people think here. Do the lead guitar parts sit ok? I'm worried I've mixed a few of them too loudly..

As before, I'm mixing on DT990 Pro headphones and sometimes struggle to trust what I'm hearing. Everything was tracked in Logic Pro. I used/programmed EZ Drummer and EZBass for drum and bass parts respectively, and my Tele for all guitars through a Diezel VH4 setting in Bias Amp 2. I mostly used the neck pickup for lead parts -- as I really like its warmth -- and bridge for rhythm parts.

Thanks,

Ben.

Hi benhj,

Beautiful guitar track, you are a guitar god!

Your guitar playing is simply exquisite!

The mix is perfectly laid.

Actually the guitar can be a bit louder, and it will be fine.

I love this recording.

Rene

Thanks Rene, I really appreciate the feedback!

Ben.

Sounds awesome!

I'm with Rene on this one. The guitar could be up just a bit. The kit is overpowering but what a killer drum sound too. Bass sits in there perfectly.

Man, you seriously have your sound down. Best mixing I've ever heard done on headphones.

I’m going to see what boosting the lead guitar by 0.2db or so does.

Thanks,

Ben.

Hi again -- I've boosted the lead guitar by 0.2db (so quite subtle I guess) -- hopefully a bit 'nicer' now.

Appreciate any listens of new version / further feedback (not sure how to add a new attachment with the post so I've uploaded it here --> https://app.box.com… ).

Thanks again,

Ben.

Or... turn the snare down a bit. Its so close to perfect.

Thanks a lot for the additional feedback! I have reduced the volume of the snare by an extremely small hair (well, 0.2db to be exact) -- right ballpark? https://app.box.com…

Thanks,

Ben.
