sup people.
so anyways, i need help creating a fade-in on one of my tracks. i am using Pro Tools LE with a Digidesign mbox2 mini hooked up to my windows computer. i have three separate tracks recorded, and i only want to edit one track. the problem is, every time i select the region i want to edit on a track, i am unable to access the fade option under the edit tab. however, it allows me to access this when i've selected a region amongst 2 tracks, but it doesn't even select the region or audio that i want to edit. it's frustrating being this close to doing something so seemingly simple and i cannot figure out what i am doing wrong.
help prease?

Hello Guest...

Me thinks, this is a severe case of RTFM ( read the fantastic manual )...
If you stumble at this very basic task, you urgently need to study your DAW functions.
Otherwise u won't have much fun... A DAW is the tool you should know by heart ... to leave time and brain capacity for creative work and composing.

Some folks dislike working with one piece of software. That's like wearing one type of underwear and only one type. So some of us use multiple different pieces of software for its intuitive efficiency. Fading in & fading out is one of the basics. Sort of like brushing your teeth. You did brush your teeth today didn't you? Have you ever noticed there are no directions on toothbrush boxes?

Please be more specific, Are you trying to create a fade out of the region. (i assume this is the task you want)
Or as BigK alluded to which is an automation fade out using volume.

Actually, in either case, Big K is correct, that you need to look up this very basic function in your manual. It will describe the process in detail, much better than we could paraphrase it here, which would just be redundant doncha think.
Some people say they don't like reading manuals, but I don't see the difference between reading it on a page or reading it here. The text is identical.

Also, ruling out the possibility that you're following the specified directions and it's still not working, then please expand on the sentence where you say: "when i've selected a region amongst 2 tracks, but it doesn't even select the region or audio that i want to edit."
Initially this doesn't compute. You've selected regions on 2 tracks but not selected regions 2 tracks?
