Hi everyone,
I'm looking for suggestion for a good interface. I'm much more a performer/musician than a recording engineer, so any advice is appreciated!
Some details:
I use a Royer sf12 stereo mic and The Ribbon Pre. Currently I record to a Marantz compact flash recorder. I'd like to be able to record to my computer.
I believe I don't need any additional preamps in the interface, and in fact would want to bypass them?
I use PCs/Windows 7. I currently have Firewire, though I think USB would probably end up to be convenient?
The SF12 is a stereo mic, so I'm looking for an interface with 2 inputs.
From the reading that I've done, I think what I'm looking for out of the interface is a high quality converter?
I'd like something that does justice to the SF12, and of course would prefer to spend less, rather than more:)
Thanks!
Josh

You don't give any idea of budget (other than "less" rather than "more"). If you are wanting to complement the sonic quality of your mic and pre-amp, you should be looking at something like the Lavry AD10. Is this the right sort of ballpark?
