I've decided to up my budget for new monitors due to how much I've learned in the last month, how many speakers I've tested in my studio, and what i need/want.
Out of all the speakers I tested out I like the Adam A7X's the best, but they were "bright", lacking low mid, and I could see them causing ear fatigue easily.
Those factors aside I'd be happy mixing on them, I just want a speaker that is completely honest, translates best, and covers all frequencies.
I've narrowed it down to a select few pairs that are in my price range and have my interest, but I do not have access to these speakers so I've gotta get allot of opinions.
Adam A77X
JBL LSR6328P
Dynaudio BM15
Hopefully some people on here have a/b'd a couple of these choice pairs in a good listening environment and can give me some input.

The Genelec 8050 are out of my price range, and unfortunately I don't care for the smaller versions due to their lack of low freq detail.
I like the Neumann's but I would need to have a sub with them in order to comfortably mix on them, but at the same time I don't like using subs.
I'm interested in the Digi speakers.
Now, I'm pretty much set on the Adam A77X three way speakers, due to their alikeness to the A7X but with the benefits of deeper frequency response, better mids, and smoother highs.
Pretty sure it's the perfect speaker for me.

Theres quite a bit of adjustments on the Genelecs. I really love them. the 8040 you had listed are very good. Nice to listen to and all the info is there. A sub does help but the 8040's dont really need one. I DO have a sub with my nearfields. I have the old model 1029's with the 1091 sub. I had a really small room when I got them and anything else was simply overkill.
I sent you a reply on the PM. Ask them about Genelecs too. they are dealers for those as well.

Thanks, Dave.
I've decided on the Adam A77X, got to borrow a pair of them along side some A7X's, and Genelec 8050's.
They had more detail, smoother highs, super detailed accurate mids, were less forgiving with bad mixing decisions, no need for sub with them, stereo image was
very easy to hear everything separate and here where it sat.

In that price range you may want to listen to some focals before you pull the trigger, i've never heard anyone say anything bad about them.
But, at this point chrish, it seems like you really like adams, even when your budget was lower, you still liked adams the best. sounds like you found a winner! enjoy. best of luck!

This doesn't apply to Chris, since he made his decision, but I thought I'd throw it out for reference. I have the JBLs and like them a lot, but I did find that adding the subwoofer improved my mixes. They are not a bright speaker, and I find them comfortable to listen to for extended periods. I've never heard them with the Adams, but I was able to compare them to the Dynaudios is a pretty reasonable listening room and I liked the JBLs better.
I think that once you choose a particular price/quality level, it's a matter of matching a set of monitors to your room and your ears. The JBLs are working for me.

1 monitor a lot of ppl may not know about that are awesome are aps aeon's. amazingly accurate.
i personally stick with PMC TB2S-A II and event opals for nearfield, mixcubes for reference and adam s3x's as my mid field/mains..

Love the Genelecs. Have heard the Adam A7, and the Dyn BM12. I also really really really like the Neumann monitors KH120. The new sub-woofers are shipping soon and should make this system something quite incredible. Here's a suggestion.....with a note about it....First. Are you aware that a few years ago Digi-Design got into the monitor market? They're out of it now, but they made some really good monitors. Built by PMC which makes its own lines of monitors. Since they are out of the business of selling monitors, some of the remaining NOS units are getting blown out for a fraction of the retail and certainly ups the value. Nothing wrong with the line, its just Digi's way of doing business. Anyone who runs with ProTools knows what I'm talking about. So, I know a dealer with two pairs and they want them gone. PM me for the info. These would be waranty and the whole bit as well as professionally shipped proper and what not. They do sound really good as an equal to your choices at this point. If you can try em out you should. Maybe a local gittarget will have a pair.
