10 year mac veteran merging into the PC world.

I'm glad to read about this because I am going to have a few older PC sitting around. Has anyone used this? What other options are there for utilizing older PC's. I'm going to have 4 core 2 systems in the studio and am wondering how to take advantage of all the processing power.

Any tips would be appreciated.
