Hey everybody!
Can anybody tell me of any keyboards available out there which compare to the Alesis QS8.2, but don't cost quite as much?
I'm wanting to purchase one as a gift for a friend, but he won't accept anything as expensive as the Alesis (even though that's the one he really wants).
I will greatly appreciate any/all comments.
Thank You -- HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

It depends on what he is going to use it for. I have Alesis boards here that I use for some of the strange synth sounds they offer and live they are fun. If he is going to use it mainly for a piano then I would suggest the Kurzweil sp 88 for an inexpensive alternative. It doesn't have all of the sounds and features but it is a much better sounding keyboard. I have also found that many of the cheaper Yamaha keys sound damn good for the money also.

Thank you so much for your comments. My friend is going to be using it for different sounds (not just for the piano). I will check out the others that you suggested, though. Thanks again! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
