I think the question of context here is valid - what is this? Are you just showing us sounds that you can make using alchemy mobile and steamworx ? Is this just a presentation of the colour palette in steamworks? Or is this a genuine "song" to be consumed as a stand-alone piece of music?

My understanding of these sample packs is that they are geared toward film and video score producers and writers - sort of a quick atmospheric-in-a-box type product.

I've got friends taking film scoring courses and recording courses right now and they really are geared toward pumping out folks that can quickly, proficiently, and with relatively low expense, generically create and produce scores for film and tv projects. And the truth is - as budgets shrink - particularly for music in these projects, there just isn't the budget for anything beyond the quick and generic. Certainly there isn't the room in the budget for a schooled musician, composer, arranger, session players, studio time, engineers etc etc that were the norm in days of old. We get ITB solutions where the "box" literally includes a sample pack with endless presets and remix variations.

I went to your Soundcloud page and saw all your other pieces and listened to a few -- and here's what I recommend. That without visuals - these kinds of soundscape exercises are somewhat wasted. I think what you should be doing is combing the web for video that you can use to create sounds for. I'd change your whole process and start with generic video --- There's tons of it out there -- and start writing music for those videos. That's where you'll start building chops - invoking mood and emotion. That's the only place this stuff has any real value and it's the hidden language that the colour palette alone doesn't speak - that's the one you have to learn. This stuff needs the visual for any kind of context.

What you've posted is simply a bunch of pre-recorded loops, samples and Special FX patches strung together...

So, Uhm... What is this? What is its intended use? Is this a finished "song"? Or are you simply giving examples of what this library sounds like?

In the future, it would be more helpful to those of us listening if you added a description as to why you are posting what you are.

Oh boy this is very bad. not only the arrangement seems to be some successive patch changes but the frequencies seem to be squached. Bad conversion ?
This is not art. Imagine if I start a song with a line of flute than stop the flute and put a couple notes of piano then why not some toms and so forth..
Even as film ambiance it doesn't add up.. Unless there is a metal pile rolling down a hill and some new stuff adds to the pile and change the sound.. ;)

yeah, I'm with ya on this one. To my ears, it kinda resembles someone kicking a box full of used auto parts down a fire escape, but, a ciascuno il suo (to each his own).

I'm still waiting for an explanation from the OP as to what his motivation was in posting this.

Experience tells me it's most likely "midi masturbation".... you know... the all-too-common "I just found this awesome new sample library and look what I can do with it!" syndrome.
