I have owned the PreSonus AudioBox USB for a couple of months now. I've been successfully stumbling along and have managed to achieve a few of my short-term goals: practicing and recording bass cover tracks over iTunes songs, mostly.
The box says the interface comes "with ... Steinberg's Cubase LE 4 48-track recording and production software giving you everything you need to get started recording and producing your music."
Here are my questions. Where is Cubase? How do I find it and open it up? Why would I want it when I've begun using their free Studio One 2 Artist DAW?

They stopped including Cubase LE when Studio One came out. Don't worry about it. Studio One is fine. Limitations often prove to be a great learning tools. You'll have to learn to be satisfied with the included plugins for now. The Upgrade to Studio One from artist shouldn't be too bad. $100 to Studio One Producer.

OK, I guess you're right. The main box is printed with the quote I listed above about Cubase, but there are two stickers on the box, front and back, that talk about Studio One. Perhaps this implies (but does not state) that it no longer comes with Cubase, despite the Cubase wording still being on the box. Confusing. Plus, all this time and I don't really know what Cubase is. I read that it's a sequencer, and that it is part of a DAW, but is it a DAW? I'm inferring from your post that it is a DAW. Is it somehow better than Studio One? Pity the uninitiated.
In any case, I can't imagine needing any more functionality than I am beginning to discover in Studio One. Except that it does not do mastering. Again, whatever that is. Someday I'll reread this post and shudder, I hope.

I guess the box is trying to state that it comes w/ a light version of Cubase LE 4. Just use any type of DAW that you like. Does not matter at this stage as to what is better other than...>>> What is best for you.
Did this Presonus Audiobox include a cubase cd?
