I think it's a long shot, but is there a way to get my songs off of my old Atari with Cubase 2.0 on to my PC with Cabasis VST?

My bad, when I said Akai had a utility and I was sure Steinberg did too, I meant I was sure Atari did too.
That said I think it was fairly clear that I was talking about a utility to reds alternative-format disks in a PC, so I think your reaction while laudably childish, was slightly uncalled for.
I did have a friend with a copy of Cubase version 4 lined up for you if you needed it, but scratch that.
There we go. I can be more of a pr*ck than you can.

So, eh, who exactly was being childish here??? pfff! If you don't have anything worth saying, shut your mouth please!
You did have a friend? What do you mean...you don't have no friend no more?
Hey thanks man, for your advice...! 8-)
welcome to RO, drumsab! i am sure we will see a lot more of you

your heady grasp of english may not get your wit across clearly, but I think you missed the part where somebody attempting to assist you with no reason to do so but good faith, is usually met in both the real or online world with appreciation or at very least an appreciation that you may not have made yourself clear.
i went to the trouble of asking friends whether somebody had a version that would allow the through-conversion. you gave me no reason to continue taking trouble.
well done.

well jamie, there's nothing wrong with my English. And if you've read my answer carefully, you could have read that I was rephrasing my question. I think you only read the duuh and immediately fell off yor high horse.
But that's ok, really.
And once again, just as I have posted earlier, thank you for the advice and help and the efforts you were about to make for me, and so on and so forth. And just to be absolutely clear, I'll say it in my own words for you: je bent een enorme grote klootzak, tot ziens.
Thnx
klootzak doesn't translate on babelfish, but i get your drift.

damn right i read the Duuuh and took offence, who wouldn't.
i tried to assist you and you were abusive.
as you aren't standing in front of me, there's little i can do but tell you what i think of you.
i can't waste any more of my time on this, but consider that the next time somebody asks a badly-phrased question or something they really could find the answer out to by doing some research, someone like me may be less likely to try to help because of someone like you.
your actions affect the way other people react to you. you misunderstood my answer and thought i'd misunderstood your question. you were abusive to me, i was abusive in turn to you. but please note that you are the negative influence here.
i was especially hacked off by you because i actually went to somebody else to get an in-between version of Cubase for you and came back to the thread to find your pissant comment.

Hey man, don't threaten me and then say you don't stand in front of me, like you're meaning it. I have really had it with you and your foney way of being pretend nice. That has just been your way of pissing people off. I can't imagine you being a really nice person in real life actually. Everything about you is fake. If it wasn't, you wouldn't be pretentious to me and acting all hurt while you were supposedly being so nice to go all out of your way to help me. In your way of answering my posts I can see that you are not the person you say you are. And stop being such a cry-baby and piss off out of my way! You have wasted enough space on this thread.
Thank you, good night!

I'm not getting into any further argument.
I can't understand your surprise.
You are rude to me after I went out of my way and don't expect me to react?
Whether you believe me or not is immaterial.
The order in which this thread runs reveals perfectly clearly what kind of person each of us are, in as much as a thread can be expected to.
I am perfectly happy with how I come out of this. I've tried to remain polite after my initial outburst which I think was justified in line with your post.
It is out of respect for the forum and not for you that I will bite my tongue and let this flow away.

floppy disks?
akai had a wee utility that allowed you to read their disks, and so I would be fairly certain Steinberg would too.
the steinberg forums should help you here.
its a functionality that must have existed at one ;point, so i see no reason to assume it doesn't now.
you can look at the import function is vst5 to see what formats you can use, but you might have to use an intermediate version as a stopgap.
