I own an Alesis Multimix 16 channel firewire mixer. When i power on (No connections to computer or anything), the clip light is constantly on, and when i plugin a microphone or instrument, the sound is very quiet and distorted...on all inputs and ouputs. What is wrong, and how do i go about fixing this?

The Alexis Multimix line is very buggy. Since it really isn't working at all you might try updating the firmware and drivers. They come together in the package and should be installed together EXACTLY according to the instructions.
