I'm currently recording a dry signal (monitoring the sound with Revalver or some other amp sim) thru an m-audio project mix i/o which I believe has solid state preamps.

I then send that to my engineer and he does the reamping thing thru a Triple Rectifier. It sounds great.

Is it advisable to record my dry signal using a tube preamp or is it better with the solid state one? My guess would be the solid state is better for this job, since it eventually goes thru a tube preamp anyhow, during the reamping.
