HI ALL In Virtual Land. Trying to hunt down some circuits for some very rear little beasts called a EMT256 II. One of the Powderfinger boys has bought a pair and would like to make them work again. If anyone has any info at all hiding in a draw somewhere please blow the dust of of it and place it on the scanner. It would be most appreciated. Thank You.

Opposed to the full-fledged 19" PDM156 these are some broadcast-module-casing units which were originally meant to fit in the emt 259 lunchbox. (see [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.danalexa…"]Dan Alexander Audio[/]="http://www.danalexa…"]Dan Alexander Audio[/] for some pics)
I'd like to have more info on these and especially the emt-259 case too..

HI ALL :) Thanks for the offers and copies of the EMT156 Circuits. I have found a friend of mine by chance had a whole English Manual for the EMT256II which I should have in a week or so from Sydney. The EMT156 is a fully Discrete transistor Comp and the EMT256 II is a fully IC one including lots of 741's as it turnout. Any body need a copy of the EMT256 II Manual let me know by my email address and i will send it to you by email once I have it. Thanks Again for all the replies.

What do you think of the sound of the 156? How does it compare to some more common compressors?
My unit is not working 100%. It's got some sidechain problems I have to sort out. I can get it working for a few minutes before it goes nuts.
So far, the unit is really noisy. In the condition it is right now, it's very agressive.
There is a color to it ala an 1176 from what I can tell when it's not freaking out. I hope to get it running in the next couple months and get a better idea of it's sound when it is working properly. Eddi Ciletti just wrote a nice article about this beast in Mix. I plan to build an external power supply as he did to stabilize the rails a little better, (and quiet them down).
I'd be curious to hear thoughts from other users about the sound and use of the EMT 156.
Thanks
