I was wondering if anyone has experience with the PreSonus Faderport. I am thinking about getting one but was wondering if there are any alternative better products out there.
I am running Logic 7 with an Imac dual core 20" and have a Firepod as my interface. Any known issues with a Faderport and this set up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I held off on getting the Fader Port but finally got a great price on EBay in like brand new condition.
It is truly GREAT. I do not use it all the time as I feel that it is sometimes cumbersome to switch from using the keyboard when you are "in the zone" to the Fader Port controls.
But then again, when I am adjusting Pan, automation, tracks and want to just sit back and put the Fader Port on my lap, it is great. The unit is well built and does exactly as advertised. I also use it when moving over to the keyboard and need to activate record mode away from my computer. As a matter of fact, I can now be further away from the computer and arrange mics and guitar accordingly, using the Fader Port to activate tracks and automation remotely. Real plus for sure.
I have a complete Presonus set up and everything works so well. (most of the time that is).
My advice: YES you will be real happy and very pleased with the Fader Port.
Don't buy new, Get a pre-owned one that works like new.

This app is for Studio Live though yes? Not Studio One or VSL Interface devices...Or can I in fact use it to control the Studio One DAW mixer?

SL Remote (either version old or new), is a nifty app for wireless mixing live. It would be handy in a studio for adjusting your own headphone mix, muting / unmuting channels. It does not have any means of arming tracks or transport control in any version I've seen. The physical SL console doesn't have any of that control surface functionality either.

After researching on the web, I have come to the conclusion that an Alphatrack might be a better alternative. They should be out very soon although I cannot find any UK sites who have them to pre-order. The other problem is that they are not compatable with Logic yet.
Any thoughts on these two products? The Alphatrack seems to have more assignable knobs on it and more functions in general. Has anybody been quoted a UK shipping date for the Alphatrack or when they will be Logic compatible?
