Hey everyone! With much help given in the past, I thought I might call on you once again. I am in a toss-up between choosing mixers for my studio. Below are the two I have narrowed it down to. Please let me know what you think...
Behringer Xenyx 2222FX Mixer
Mackie DFX12 12x2 Mixer with Effects
Why one or the other? Or, why not any of the two, or...you get what I mean...don't you?
Thanks for your help!

I already own a 28 channel 1983--(the year that is) Panasonic Ramsa mixer. I wanted to save some space in the studio and make an upgrade from old to new.
I mainly use my studio for commercials, radio imaging, etc...
Thanks for your interest

Outside of the space issue, and the fact that your Ramsa is 24 years old and might have a few age induced quirks, are there any other compelling reasons to swap it out?
Space alone yes. Another reason--I guess I want to try out the built in effects on the new boards. But mainly for space. Now, I do love the sound that comes out of my Ramsa, but I guess I want to try and find an even better sound--You know, a kid with a new toy.
I'm always trying to achieve a new and bigger sound. Those mixers are in my price range and I thought I would give one a try. Just looking for the best bang for my buck.
Thanks again,

Well, the pre's are said to be quite good on the Ramsa. I almost bought one about 8 years ago, but opted for an older Tascam instead.
If I were you and wanted some newer, better toys, I'd save some cash until I could purchase one of the following (cheapest to most expensive): an MG12/4FX, 01V, or a DM1000.
