Hello everyone! First off, I hope this is the right section to post this, if not I apologize.
Now then...
I have searched everywhere and I cannot find out how to set up two USB mics to record at once but with two different levels.
Software I have to record are...
- Sony Vegas and Sony Sound Forge
- Reaper
- Audacity
Someone please tell me there is a way to set up multiple microphones to record at once in one of these programs, there has to be! If its any help, the mics I am trying to use are 2 "Samson Q1U" mics. I have used one and it works great! But I want to be able to record with both of them at once!

I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. The mic functions as an interface and as far as I know you can't piggy back them. Either one driver loads or the other. I realize they will be using the same driver but that kind of functionality has to be built in.
With any other audio interface you can either use a single driver to route them both or you can only use one at a time.
In other words, the only way you'll be able to find out for sure if it doesn't specifically say you can on their web site or product documentation is by trying it out. If you have a friend that has the same mic, ask him to lend it to you. Find out then we'll all know.

I would think that you would need a USB Hub to start, but I don't know whether or not the mics would show up as discreet items or if they would conflict with one another.
In Vegas they should be selectable under the input options if they do not conflict, but there again I've only used Vegas with dedicated ADC's, not USB, so I don't know if you would be able to control the gain separately on the mics.
Do the USB mics come with any sort of software control panel that allows you to adjust the gain? If so, and the mics are seen by the program you're recording to without conflicts, then it should work no problem.
