I was wondering if there was a "better way" to process your final mixes in terms of dither and resampling, if necessary.

I assumed,

1. Highest quality final mix.
2. Limiter, master effects etc.
3. Dither to 16-bit.
4. Downsample to CD Sample Rate from 48khz to 44.1khz

Is this a rule or does it matter.

Presumably, you want to process your final mix at the highest resolution and then do any destructive sound quality reduction like dither or resampling last.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
