I'd like to use pre-recorded drums to trigger BFD or DFH. I know that in theory I need to convert the different drum tracks into midi notes and then route it to BFD or DFH.
I know that in Logic you can do that, but what about in Cubase SX2? Is there a free Mac plugin that will do that?
Thanks!

i know its real easy in logic.
just cut a short piece of the track, double click it, choose 'audio to score' in one of the menus, and set the threshold.
u could always use logic to create the midi-tracks, and then import the midi into cubase, but i guess cubase should have some similar function??
the long way is to stripsilence the track, and use your eyes to align midi-notes to the audio.
i;ve had to do it on several occasions where i didnt have any 'audiotoscore' function (logic express 7 on a laptop on location...)
its a pain, but it works if you do it carefully

There are two things you could do. You could route the drum tracks out to a trigger device (something like an Alesis D4) that would convert the triggers to midi notes.
The alternative would be to use a program like Drumagog. Actually, I don't know that there is another program like it. Basically you attach it to a track and make a few adjustments and you could actually use it to do the sound replacing. However in their pro version you can have it output midi data instead of trigger a sample.
A lot of people use it and I think it works pretty well.
