If you could buy the appropriate tools for "cheap," would you perform surgery on yourself?
Getting the correct tools to do the job costs money. Buy cheap monitors, get bad sound...there's a link there.
Training, education, practice and money...these are the steps to getting a good sound.
Otherwise, pay somebody who can do the job well and does own a great pair of monitors.

I cannot reccomend those monitors enough! I use them! The only critisism I had was that the low end was somewhat lacking....so I bought the matched sub. BRILLIANT! Great value too!

Oh man, when paired with the HS10 the whole system REALLY kicks! I have been wanting that sub for a little while now to match my HS50's. I think they are great near field monitors for the price. I would have to suggest inserting an EQ before each one to get a more flat response. They have somewhat of a nice bump in the 2k-4k range that is overemphasized in your mix and kinda harsh on the ears for long periods of time.
get studio monitors, duh
