Im interested to find out how to create that effect u hear most recently on the Linkin Park album, where u often stutter vocals, drums, guitars and various things... it sounds like a robotic, escalating sound... It sounds like a combination of editing the stutter pieces witha combination of efx... any help?

The basic classic stutter effect can be found on most Eventide units with the upper end units capable of additional and extra processing combined with the stutter effect. You also are able to get hundreds of other types of effects from most Eventide units as well.

A Freind and I did it on acoustic guitar using an MPC3000. We sampled all the individual notes and then some chords and programmed the part to have that stutter feel. Lots of programmers have been doing this for a few years now. :p:

I just chop up a low amplitude portion of a waveform on grid mode in Pro Tools and paste it out a couple of times. 32nd notes. Similar, but not the same dilly. Sounds more like Squarepusher than Linkin Park.
