Hi Kurt,
As a MSP5 user myself, I happy to find a good review from you on this monitor.
I am pleasantly surprised as well for you to find them to be good in the low end response as well.
Care to share with me the room condition where you tested this monitors? How far apart where they and how loud did you tested out.
So far I love my MSP5 but still find the low end a little lacking where I had to train myself to get used to. I'll be getting some acoustics foam soon and hope that will help in making them sound better. :)

My room is 14 by 17.. with a 7.7 ft ceiling. I keep my nearfields about 3 feet apart and 3 feet from my ears. I thought the imaging was excellent. I usually monitor at around 85 dB.. I don't like it real loud. I found the bass response to be very good with the MSP5s, considering their size. The Yamaha web site specs them to 40Hz but the owners manual said 50.. I would say 50 is more like it ... I'm glad you liked the review, I should be getting a set of MSP10s soon to run through the paces. Keep an eye out! Kurt
