Well, if $$ were no issue, I'd suggest you go for scsi160 card and scsi160 hard drives.

You can even keep your new hdd's.

Go for P3, and I have a soyo motherboard that works perfectly.- Intel chips.

Intel chipsets work better with certain audio hardware..Via are buggy..AMD are proving to be good tho..but I havent tested one yet since I trust Intel due to experience...

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! Stay away from the 820 chipsets!!! Bad chipset...bad!!! Plus that's only a Slot 1 and not a Socket 370!!! 820 chipsets have serious math co-processor issues

Basically you will have to spend more money on RDRAM to get better results..SDRAM is still the choice..very very cheap..and besides..why go with an older processor when you can get faster results with the newer Socket 370 processors!!
I had a dealing with the 820 when it first came out...not good on the sanity measurement tool if you ask me!! I reinstalled a machine several times trying to figure out why the hell it kept freezing up and so forth..till Intel released the recall of all the 820 chipsets did I realize that it was that!!! Just trying to save you some serious frustration..
If you want a Dual Socket 370 board with an intel chip look at Abit VP6 I believe it is..only supports up to 933Mhz I think it is..

I don't want to make the same mistake I made last time w/ video. My local soda shop doesn't carry the Appian you listed, and dual monitors are out of the question right now anyway ($$$).

When I search Pricewatch, I can find cheaper prices, but with MicroX-press, I can just go down and pick them up, and if there are problems, I can just go down and exchange. It's worth the little extra I pay. Tax vs. shipping is about a wash, so not really an issue.

I would go with the ATI card..dont get any card with TV input unless you absolutely need it. 32MB is fine but dont get any higher RAM based video cards.
If you are getting the Asus board remember that it can take both PC133 and PC100..which you seem to be mismatching since you allready have some older sticks of memory. You'll be better off going with all PC133 instead of mismatching..when you mismatch you are thus going at the speed of the slowest RAM..PC100. RAM is soooo cheap..get your self another stick..believe me..this box will work. I just built pretty much the same system for a buddy of mine and it's so damn stable!!! Good Luck

btw...the memory that I just bought for the older IBM box *was* PC133...just in case I needed to use in a newer box, and I guess that was a smart decision, since I now need it!

I will put in both old sticks along with the new 256 stick (all PC133).

Cheaper than 2 monitors. You can't look at 2 desktops at once, tho. But they are only a Ctrl + -> away.

I use it, when I'm not using litestep.

Besides, it's not the equipment that counts, its how you use it.
