Did you reformat the hard drive? If so, you're dead. If you merely erased the playlists, you're in luck, the audio is still there, just needs to be reorganized into playlists.

Yeah, I think I formated the HD.

Formating/errace=Blank Masterlink.

One more problem here.......

It seems this all started because I had been recording in 88.2k and could not get a digital audio signal out of the Masterlink. I did not know this, for I monitor from the unit useing the analog outs.

Now strangely I find that the Masterlink will not move out of the selected 88.2k mode, except when in analog, where it moves freely to all sample rates.

What am I doing wrong? :eek:

Could it be that you feed 88.2 K into the digital input of the Masterlink. I think if you do, it will always lock to the dig input, unless you're playing back in a different format. Sorry to hear about the lost files.

Can I get back to 44.1, or am I stuck?

The light bulb struck, as Betty Boop's Grandpapy says, "wait........I've got it"!

I forgot about the clock on the Finalizer! Once I changed that any sample rate from the Masterlink can be obtained. My mistake!

Am I correct in assumeing then that 44.1 is the best sample rate after comming from analog tape and board? I always use 24 bit, I think that that along with the 44.1k is the way to go.

Do I hear any amens?

24bit 44.1 is where am usually at. saves on ever having to sample convert (yuck!).
