Hey Seb,
The 4000e arrived in great shape. I've only had a chance to track a few piano accompaniments for student's practicing purposes, but WOW!
I taped two Crown PZM's to the lid and played.
Excellent bottom end, clean mids, bright highs and all with warmth, and I didn't even spend anytime fine tuning because these weren't important recordings. Plug and Play.
It sounds like my piano! - a very nice 7'6" Yamaha grand C5.
Can't wait to try it on vocals!

Hi,
Did some work on vocals - it was very easy to get a very nice sound. Need to spend more time with daisy chaining channels and settings to get it to really rock, but I have no doubts that it will. I just need time to experiment.
Did a bunch of overdubs to experiment as well and there was a very nice sound created by the layering of tracks. No I can see this becoming my go to unit for a lot of applications.
Just for kicks I also threw 2 414s ULS on the orchestra in the classroom and got some great results.
I am very happy with the purchase!! Thanks Seb.

Hey thanks Phil !!
There's heaps of flavour and colour to be had with the vmp series.
Linking the channels is another world altogether.
Quite a few souls are telling me they now master through their Seb preamps because of the natural and subtle compression.
All we are saying is give peace a chance.

Yep. That is what I've been doing. Instead of reaching for eq, I've been running 2trk through the vmp4000e. It seems to work very well.

The problem is the extra da ad conversion but when I stick the non da-seb-ad against the original, I keep the seb version. Good adda converters helps.

Just did it again! Another 2 trk gone out via the vmp all flat and it still sounds less brittle, earthy, and rounder, even with the extra DA-AD (Via RAMSA DA7 desk). Seriously thinking about the Seb EQ now for when I want more control. :)
