I love T.O.

When I was touring Ontario back in the 80's, I used to spend as much time there as I could. I played the Gasworks several times, Massey Hall once, and I really fell in love with the city.

It had a vibrant music scene, of all styles and vibes, as well as a multi cultural population that had great food, great music, great theater, great art, great museums.

Toronto was my second home there for awhile in the 80's.

I haven't been back in years, though... probably not since 2003 or so. I'm sure it's changed quite a bit since. The city just seems to continue to grow. The last time I was there, it had been a few years since my previous visit, and I remember being amazed at walking on pavement that had been Lake Ontario just a few short years before.

I wonder what has changed since then... It's been quite sometime since my last visit.

But I still think about it all the time. ;)

I was just in Nashville last week and I was impressed. It's not a big city, as it's size and population surely do not compare with Toronto, however what impressed me is that the city revolves around music. I stayed at music row where it's studio after studio after studio. They have so many venues and great acts constantly coming in. And especially, almost anyone you see, anyone who waits on you at a restaurant or anyone you bump into, is playing a gig somewhere after their shift. There are so many people tying to make it in the music business and I found that impressive. So maybe not the biggest music city, but one of the best? Possibly, and per capita I'd definately say one of the densest, if it can be measured that way. Haha

Toronto is my favorite place in north America. Maybe because i have a lot of personal memories there, but still, i know i will always end up meeting great people and great bands.

I spent lots of time at cameron's house, queen street west (2 blocks west of spadina), and everytime i go there i meet great people...

I With i could get a job there...

Yeah on the question, what's the most musically prolific city in the world, Nashville is sure to come in the top 10... ;)
But it all depends on what prolific meens for you, because, you get a city like Montreal where music is playing all the time in numerous venues and where there is many music festival with artists coming from everywhere in the world and local artists going else where to record and perform... The result : It's a musical city with poor music revenue...

So, are we looking at where the most succesfull musicians come from? Where do they go to record and sell albums ? Or where do everyday people spend more money to the music industry ? ;)
