Just launched at AES 2016...would be interesting to see how it compares to the real thing.

re AKG 414 . Grabbed this graph off the web, looks pretty nice. The AKG C414B-XL II is almost 6db around 5.5k . The AKG C 414B XLS looks to be smoother. Never the less, I've always wanted a few.
Thanks for the warm (no pun intended) welcome! Check out the older c414 buls. I did an extensive audition of the xls and buls. The buls is definitely less sibilant and harsh in the top-end. I kept the buls, returned the xls.
Regarding the Warm mic, I'm absolutely thrilled to try it out one of these days!!

Although in my experience you can't trust microphones reviews. If you read any $99 condenser mic user review, everyone always swear their crappy mic sounds better than a Neumann U47
Well the Warm Audio WA87 is 599$. Those who buy 99$ mics rarely know what they are doing and/or do not have the trained hear to tell the difference.
I too would like to hear about this mic from a pro ;)

Not all AKGs are alike, certainly not all 414s. There are entire threads devoted to this topic. Some 414s have a flatter response than U87s. They're both considered neutral mics.
