I'm Building a DAW and I'm planning to get 512MB either Corsair or Kingston DDR400 3200. Both of the models i'v had a look at have a CAS of 2.5.
One person has told me that it is better to get 2 sticks of 256 because data can be sent to two sticks quicker than one. I've also herd that it is better to go with one stick of 512MB ram.
What is the right answer?

Well, to be honest SATA just isn't really there yet so I would wait until at least the next phase of development before going that route yet.
In regards to the RAM you would want to get the PC 3200 DDR 400 as that is what the board calls for in the long run.
You will need two sticks regardless as it is a dual channel memory support. So you would need two sticks of 256 to make it 512 or two sticks of 512 to make it 1GB!

Thanks for your reply the info has helped. My main reason for looking at a MB with SATA was for future upgrades in mind as well. For the hard drives I had a look at the Western Digital and the fastest internal transfer rate I could find was 8.9 with an 8 mb chache for 80gb or 120gb. Where as with the Seagate SATA 150 I found an 8.5 internal transfer rate. The cost was only marginally more so I thought I would go for that. If you have any differing views with the WD vs Seagate give us a yell.
