Dude at the studio told me to use Cubase cuz its format compat wit pro tools, but i don't really wanna switch any suggestions for transferring Sonar projects to pro tools?
export each file as an Aiff file if it's available in Sonar..if not export it as a wav...it's better if you can use Aiff since Mac's read Wav files backwards and PC's read Aiff files backwards as well..it's a coding process that makes it read it backwards..the Mac OS has to flip the code to read it properly so it's better and faster to export it as Aiff
Make sure that each file is the exact same length and you wont have to nudge each file to line up with the others. This way all you have to do is import each file into Pro Tools and voilla..your file is now in pro tools..
you will not have the automation or anything like that that you have set up in your Sonar song.
MIDI is MIDI...any program should read a general MIDI file..all you have to do in Pro Tools is remap the sounds..as long as the studio you are going to has either the same Synth modules or VSTi's
