If you set it right there are almost no comp I love the vari-Mu. If you set it right there are almost no compression artifacts heard. It's also a great mastering tool. It can be used to "glue" a mix together. I didn't like it though.....and won't use it for vox unless I don't have something better... It's not a bad comp..just didn't have a sound I was interested in.
