this has never happened before and it is disrupting a session.

a band is here and wants to record to an mp3 track they brought in. i imported the track but everytime we import the track it changes the tempo and pitch from the original. if i play the original from the desktop it sounds normal and everytime i import it it changes. i import files all the time obviously and i have never had this happen before. i am confused. help
