I'm rebuilding my setup once again. I have already purchased my M-Audio ProFire 610. I'm looking to get a microphone in the $500-$1000 range. I was looking at the Neumann TLM 102 and Roke K2 mics. I've read reviews on these mics. In your opinion, which is better? Also, are there any other mics in this price range that will suit me better? Fact: I will only be recording vocals.

How many mics do you have?
Are all of these mics for vocals only, or are the other mics for different sources?
Like Jack said, it's really about source>mic matching.
Some mics do admirably on many sources, while others shine/stink, depending on source.

Ideally you need to go somewhere and try these microphones out on your voice. The Rode K2 and the Neumann TLM103 are both respected choices but neither is a universal choice unless they are all you have. The TLM 102 has a smaller capsule which might be better for some voices. Fit the mic to the voice. Don't rule out ribbon microphones as well. You would have to make darn sure you have breathe filters though.
