The 835 makes a fine mic for recording vocals. Similar to an SM58.
Can't comment on the Shure.
Like Buster said, even if you put these mics on the shelf down the road, they're waiting there should you need them.
One of them might make for a good room mic in certain applications, or who knows?
Either way, it's a free tool in your belt.
Sometimes my s***ty mics are better choices, depending on the situation.

Try them on everything. It doesn't matter that they were free and/or cheap. I've actually used ¢ .98 condenser capsules from Radio Shaft and have made superb recordings. It's all in how you use them, know them, place them. And it's interesting to note that even crappy microphones sound rather good into good professional microphone preamps. Most of your favorite live rock 'n roll recordings were made in that way. SM57/58 are the bulk of the microphones used. API, Neve, SSL are the consoles use to record those cheap microphones. So do those live recording sound cheap? I think not.

I love my cheap microphones into good preamps
