All these years and we've never had a monitor forum. what do you think? Is it worth creating a forum or not?

I always thought these would be covered under pro audio gear..

My thought is that if you do this then perhaps you should have a studio amplifier forum, studio mixer forum etc. in other words, I think it's already well covered!

I just don't see the point in increasing the number of forums unless you see a real need from lots of posts in the existing forums that might appear "off topic".

Now this is a good question... Since I think I have seen posts on "pro audio gear" and "pro recording" forums asking about monitors. I think a specific section here would be a good thing. Since not all the levels of studio monitor systems are going to be "pro" and that it might make search capability stronger. Although there could be people posting about amps, mixers, etc. I still think monitors are very important to the listening process and should be given their own section. Hey you don't need an am amp if it's "powered" and you don't need a mixer (hardware) necessarily. Finally, I think this will increase more threads and conversations to get more information about monitors. It might be a more specific approach.

Edit: adding an example I found in Pro Recording forum about studio monitors....

The main reason I think it might be a good idea is b/c of the pure volume of posts asking about studio monitors:
"Should I get A, B, or C?"
I was thinking of posting one myself, but decided to do my homework and run a couple of searches here.
Luckily I found this thread early, as the first results page wasn't looking very promising...
Also, a heck of a lot of posts from beginners wondering why monitors vs. computer speakers.
