Hi, Right now I have a pretty decent setup. I have a rather large live room in my basment. Then there's a hall and then theres another room where my pcs at. The control room i guess itd be. In the little hall i put a room full of foam for my guitar. I no that matress foam only works with mids and highs but i dont have a prob with that i dont get no boominess. i just have it to reduce reverb and so i can turn my amp up louder. But how can it better for not much money. the live rooms made of cement blocks. and we are going to hang dry wall up in the whole basement though! will that make it better? wut are somethings to easily and cheaply improve such a setup?

How big a room is it?
Are you planning on gluing/attaching the rock direct to the block?
Is the block sealed in any way?
What's over yer head?
Are there any windows or means of egress that need consideration?
How do you plan to attach the rock?
Does the room(s) have mildew/standing water/ huge cracks or a beer dispenser?

Hey thanx for all the replies guys!! A old friend of mine actually double drywalled and put carpet up in his attic and u really couldnt hear nuttin outside u could but vaguely.
Its pretty decent sized proally bout at the least 20x20.
As for how were attaching it. I think that we were going to built like a frame and put insulation it it then hang drywall on it.
I have no idea if the bloack is sealed.
Theres empty space over head the celings proally bout 10 feet up but were going to insulate it and hang stuff up.
The rooms fairly newer just put it on a few years ago so its in good shape no cracks or nuttin. Theres a fridge and a woodburner and tradmill and a tv and other random furniture in it. There is a window but its one of them very hard glass one the flu pipe is running thru it right now but were going to move the woodburner up a bit cause my dad hates having to bend down real far to feed the fire.
