Just thought I'd share what has been a labor of love for the past 8 months or so. I really should have taken "before" pics because this was a completely unfinished basement with green painted cynder-block walls and a concrete floor that was half tiled with 50 year-old tile. I used my phone for the pics which isn't the best but you get the idea. It's not as nice as some I've seen but I have all the basics to get started with more acoustic recording now including a vocal booth and a couple of small iso-booths for guitar cabinets and such, I still have to build the doors for them. I also have a few finishing touches to make like the base of the floor support and the floors of the iso booths. The far left closet is just a closet with my electrical service which I am going to be replacing in the coming weeks/months. I designed the desk from pictures of others I've seen on these forums and a good friend of mine built it for me. The keyboard slides out on 18" slides which is pretty cool. The only thing that kinda sucks is how far back I am from the computer monitors when the keyboard is slid out. They are 19" monitors but I think I'll have to get some 24"s or something when I can afford it.

Looks good, man. Looks like it's been a lot of work, too. Did you consult with anyone on acoustic treatments or just go with what you knew? What company did you get your acoustic products from? I was looking at the area above the two iso booths/closets. It kinda looks like just an empty rectangular space. Do you think you could get some weird sound congregation in there? I have a similar issue with the doorway in my lil' studio. I don't know yet how much effect it has as I'm still putting up different parts of the acoustic treatment. (I got a room kit from Auralex.}

I consulted with Sweetwater and drew the room on thier room diagnostics form which they then pass on to Auralex. This is what the guy at Auralex came up with. Keep in mind, there's still more to do. Once the booth doors are on the two small booths, they get treated with absorption and diffusion. They suggested a heavy curtain over the front of the void above the booths but I just havent decided what to do yet. I can tell you that the room already sounds really good though. Of course, it's still going to get some furniture and an area rug in the back half.
Honestly, I still have alot to do to be ready to just start flowing people through the door and collect money. Just a large learning curve with the DM-4800 and I'm about to replace my DAW. I'm just thrilled to have it to the point where it's enjoyable to sit in right now. I'm functional again as far as composing but not ready to record live mics yet.
All I can say is wow, I wish that was mine :D
