MEs... what is your favorite current EQ?
...what is the EQ you would most like to have?
Analog, Digital, Software, New, Vintage, etc.
my current fave is the Millennia NSEQ-2 with mastering mod.
My fantasy EQ ...the big dog Sontec 432 with the really big knobs !
My Current EQ LineUp:
Millennia NSEQ-2 -amazing clarity, looks great
GML 8200 -classic sound, this one has mellowed on the top end
Avalon 2055 -has that sheen, but I hardly use it
Urei 530 -truly vintage Bill Putnam, lotsa color
ZQ-1 -classic dig EQ, mine only works @ 44.1 kHz
Waves Linear Phase -not bad for plugin

It depends on the situation...
Thinking about it, I suppose if I'm trying to enhance the highs on something that already has nice highs, it'd be the PEQ.
If I was trying to actually "manufacture" highs on a recording that was anemic in that regard, it'd probably be the Pultec (still, IMHO, the single greatest plug of any type, period).

This is kind of funny because for me it is the opposite: Pultec to enhance the highs on something that already has nice highs and PEQ for highs on a recording that was anemic in that regard :) .
But totally agree with your quote "still, IMHO, the single greatest plug of any type, period".
Massive Passive and the EQ1 (Weiss) for me. Algorithmix is under test right now (red).
Cheers!

a little, and tracking bass, vox, you name it. I hope to pick a 550
or two within the year.
I have noticed that the MP is NOT an EQ to do subtractive EQing with, at least for me.
That should tell me some things about my control room! ..but its such a sweet fat, rich tone that always enhances the signal.
best of luck Jerry, and Viva Terlingua
