Hello out there,
I'm relative new in audio mastering and I have a problem with mastering a choir in Wave Lab. The mix i have sounds very cold, hard and flat. I've spent a lot of time to get a warm and open sound - without success. I hope that sombody can give me some recommendations about how to achieve a good choir sound.
Thanks in advance,

At the risk of sounding like a complete smart ass.....
You have to start with:
1 - a good choir
2 - a good space
3 - a good recording of the above
If any of the 3 items above aren't there, you cannot possibly hope to get it there in the mastering phase.
Sorry if it's not exactly the answer you were looking for, I just don't know any better answer.
Cheers!

I can't disagree with the comments offered so far. But it seems premature to paint such a hopeless scene when nobody has actually heard your material. I have had experiences where less-than-stellar original recordings can be polished to become enjoyable albums. It just depends.
If you are not able to get a sound you are satisfied with, and re-recording is not an option, then I suggest you let a skilled engineer take a crack at it.
Is it possible that you could post a representative clip? Maybe
Is it possible that you could post a representative clip? Maybe 20-30 seconds? While these exercises can take a lot of time with marginal results, there may be a couple tricks worth trying. I'd need to hear the starting point though.
Thank you for your answers. I'll try to get some samples online

If the problem is with the room acoustics and stereo image,
try experimenting with Waves Ir1 reverb church presets,
than playing with the parameters, with small amounts of
reverb.
It would really help if you could post a link to let us all hear
It would really help if you could post a link to let us all hear what you are hearing. It almost impossible to help when you don't know what the problem sounds like. Thanks!
