I am reviewing a v/o track I recorded. I have a high-pass/ low-pass filter set on an external parametric eq at 80hz/11000hz. Bandwidth is set to 'shelf'.

At approx. 2khz, there is an obvious spike when viewing the audio signal with an analyzer plugin . It is inconsistant with the rest of the frequency curve. I think it represents a +6dB increase, and is as thin as a tooth pick visually.

What is the cause of something like this?
