I've wanted to start filling up a Danner (german broadcast modules) rack for a long time, and now that I have a pretty good idea about how to rack them I need to choose which ones to get, or more precisely, how to configure the rack. So here are the last remaining questions I have on the subject:

At the moment I only need 2 eq's and 2 compressors, so I can also run mixes and other stereo material through them. What else could come in handy? Faders? Mic/Line amp? What would an ideal rack consist of?

This is the first time I'll be racking modules like these and I want t make sure I understand how they interact. Do I just use a patchbayto send the output of the comp into the eq input for example, as I would with regular outboard?

I saw racks with (output and input?) faders on them, how are those being used exactly? As make-up gain after the comp?
