Convert a woofer to microphone?

I've been reading about people turning the woofer of NS10's and other speakers into mics. How do you do this?

A speaker is functionally the same as a dynamic mic. Take the leads from the voice coil and treat them like the leads of an unbalanced microphone.

Postitive of speaker get's hooked to pin 2 of XLR....

Negative of speaker get's hooked to pin 1,3 of XLR.......plug into pre'amp.....

Place speaker in front of kick drum...

Baske in sweet bass
