I've noticed lately that my Shure condensor mic is crackling, popping, and offering up a metallic static as the result of sharper vocals, IE words that begin with the letter F. Sorry, I can't remember the model I have, something like SCM 1000 or 2000, it was $299.99 about 3 years ago. Any suggestions on how to mitigate this would be great. I've lowered my highs, mid, and lows, and of course, it's not solving the problem.

Something has become unconnected inside the mic or the XLR connector of the mic (or could be the cable too). The cable is the easiest to check if you have a tester. The mic would have to be partially disassembled to double check that.
